These bags are what the Romanian Army were using towards the later part of the Soviet era. Instead of leather straps they had resorted to using more modern, mass produced materials like nylon instead. They still kept the best part though, which is the main cotton canvas body! Dual straps secure the cover to reveal one main compartment with a small subdivision within (perfect for a water bottle). It also has extra straps on the outside best suited for rolling up a jacket or poncho into.
Whether it be for storing a notepad, lunch, books or hauling gear while hunting - these simple yet robust Soviet era bags will keep up with you.
