This little multi-tool is the Aussie's version of a Field Ration Eating Device, or F.R.E.D. for short. These are issued to Australian soldiers for the all important task of eating their rations. Included on this device is a can opener, bottle opener and spoon. The design creates a solid grip and good leverage for easily opening cans. A nice piece for a collector or for throwing into a survival kit, taking hunting, tramping or camping.
Features:
This Aussie military can-opener is FAR easier to use than their US equivalents i.e. P38 & P51. How so? It gives you more leverage. It is a great tool to have at home or in a kit bag i.e. Get Home Bag, Bug Out Bag.
The 'F'ing Retarded Eating Device'
Turns out its a great little tool for when your flatmates broke the can opener, your last beer isn't screw top, and to eat tuna out of a can because all the cutlery is dirty.
Nifty lightweight culinary tool for camping or as a backup, and the extra leverage makes can opening easier on the hand than using a P38.
Can and bottle-openers work well, and the device is small enough to fit in your wallet ( a few mm longer than a credit card). Definitely worth carrying.
