Description
The French M51 or "steel pot" (based on the WWII US M1 helmet) was manufactured from the early '50's to the '70's. Must have liked them with over 20 years of issuance! Like the M1, the M51 has a rolled edge, though the visor doesn't extend as far. The helmet is constructed from solid steel with a canvas chin strap and steel hook.
This French helmet is a must have for a military collection even if these lids have lost their liner along the way in life. Pick one up for super aesthetic or get crafty and make your own liner!
