Description

Contrary to popular belief, not everyone was wearing a civilian pair of aviators in the Vietnam war - the US military issued these sunglasses to its troops. These were issued from the 1960's right through to post war in the 70s - the majority of our ones date around 1972 (but this varies). Plastic coated wire ear loops can be bent into shape for the perfect fit. Tinted plastic lenses will protect your eyes from non-direct sunlight and won't shatter like their glass counterparts. These come with their original protective cases that still have the paper instructions on the lenses!

Despite some storage wear after some decades, these are still in unissued condition and are a must for any Vietnam War collectors!

Features:

  • Genuine US Army surplus
  • Plastic coated bendable wire ear loops
  • Tinted plastic lens
  • Lightweight
  • Protective case included

Sizing: One size fits most
Weight: Approx 26 grams (excluding case weight)
Content: Wire ear loops, plastic frame & lens
Colour: Black frame/tinted lens
Condition: New/Unissued - Item has not been used and is in 'as new' condition. These still have original protective paper but due to age, expect some storage wear from being moved around over the decades. If you want more information on our condition ratings, check out our condition guide

*Note* Date stamps vary, mainly from early 1970's. Majority of cases are olive drab with a few black cases mixed in - these will be picked at random

    cool shades however

one of the wires takes a while to adjust to fit on your ear properly and it can be very frustrating when the wire struggles to bend. other than that, the quality was superb and the high quality ink used back then as opposed to the cheap chinese ink nowadays is still intact on the manual. a shame it ripped suddenly upon lifting the glasses out so be careful of doing so.
