This Swiss army M70 jacket was the pinnacle of quality and versatility for it's time. Issued from 1957 to 1983, this jacket was designed with a huge amount of storage, it's essentially a load bearing system on a jacket! Packed with pockets and pouches to minimize the need of cumbersome packs and bags. Magazine and grenade pouches sit on the chest, while larger pockets are placed around the waist area, perfect for gear and equipment.
The M70 is loaded with handy features that made soldiers lives easier. A metal clip placed on the chest was used to carry helmets when not in use. Interior pockets contained weapon cleaning kits, saving storage space. Constructed from a heavy-weight cotton fabric, we estimate it to be around 300gsm. If you're a paintballer/airsofter, hunter or the like, you'll love this top quality jacket.

A great jacket,soft warm fabric.
Slightly short arms as noted by reviewers.
As with other clothing I have bought here it was nicely worn in and beautifully repaired during it's service life.
Mine had pockets and an epaulette replaced with an interesting variety of the pattern.
A uniquely constructed jacket, worth buying and then looking for the integral backpack.
Really put this coat through its paces. Be warned for some reason the sleeves are always too short, I just had a strip of black duck cotton, pretty easy to do. Coat can almost carry everything you need, you can find the day pack that clips on the back to carry bigger items.
This jacket for it`s age is good value however unable to rate higher due to 5 repairs on the hood, no mention of repairs in details. The other issues are sizing, I am 193cm (6ft 4 inches) tall and 97 kgs in weight so purchased large 112cm which is a tight fit and no room to layer. Also the waist/ sleeves are a tad short on this jacket. Other army surplus jackets from UK & US 112cm are larger allowing plenty of room to layer for cold weather. Bottom line is order a larger size therefore if your around 6ft I would recommend the large 112cm jacket allowing layering for cold weather, numerous storage pockets as stated, heavy material and good condition except for the repairs. If you purchase and yours has no repairs you have scored a bargain.
