South African Defence Force 1st Parachute Battalion Beret badge with a coloured metal design. The face features a dark green parachute canopy behind a central horned antelope head, flanked by broad gold-tone wings with raised feather detailing. This model was a proposed variant along side the cloth version that was adopted instead.

A brown lower panel carries gold-tone “SAI” lettering above a pointed black section. Fine gold-tone outlines define the canopy, central motif and surrounding details.
