I acquired a Driza-bone full length riding duster recently that hadn't been stored properly and stank of mildew.

after machine washing it twice (DO NOT do this to oilskin unless restoring/reproofing the garment)

it no longer smelled, so i set about reproofing it.

the Duckback has a pleasant neutral scent, and goes on clear, darkening the shade of the fabric once it dries.

The coat was a Men's 2xl full length,

and i needed more than one tin to reproof it from a washed, oil-less state. (about one and a half tins.)

If you are reproofing with some of the previous oil on there, or have a smaller garment, you'll likely need less than I did, as the dry cotton really soaks it up.
