Description

This is a collectable product, sold as a display piece only. It is not intended for wear or practical use and cannot be returned for change of mind.

The U.S. Air Force CWU-45/P flight jacket is a cold-weather version of the CWU-36/P, introduced in the 1970s to replace the iconic MA-1. This 1976 jacket is the first pattern of the CWU-45/P and is designated as MIL-J-83388A. Constructed from fire-resistant aromatic polyamide, it features a front zipper, storm flap, knit cuffs, waistband, and two large front pockets. Designed for aircrew protection in cold conditions, it became standard issue for pilots and airmen. Its functional design and military heritage have made it a sought-after collectable and practical outerwear piece. This 1976 jacket has some fading/discolouration to the outer right sleeve and a 3cm opening in the same sleeve's back seam, near the elbow. To the interior upper left is a small vertical hole which may need repairing before it can open further. Inside the jacket is a hook & loop attached pouch which contains bright orange signalling fabric.
