If you're going on small day trips or out hunting, paintballing or airsofting, creating your own DPM day pack is a cheap and quality option.

Got this to turn a single DPM Karrimore PLCE side pouch into a grab bag.
Firstly the condition is better than advertised, much better, almost unused.
With minor modifications (and no stitching to be done) it makes a tough little pack of about 12.5ltr.

So this turned up today, along with 10 mtrs paracord. I'm very impressed with quality of the yoke, all clips are present and accounted for. It looks brand new and I had fun assembling the rocket pouches to the yoke , in both single and dual pouch mode. Thanks again to john and team at army and outdoors Christchurch store. All i need now is a decent bush knife and dutch army tent and im good to go.

I'd recommend this over the OD green yoke because this harness comes complete with the shoulder straps (20mm webbing with 3x 20mm male fasteners). It doesn't take long to get used to setting this up in either the 1 or 2 pouch configurations. The chest strap can take some encouragement to get through the lower loops on the pouches but otherwise sets up in a few minutes. Great convertible gear option. The harness is comfortable to carry. It has more padding than the sewn-on harness used in the "British Army Single Day Pack". It carries nicely over PLCE webbing too. It can flap about a bit in 2-pouch mode, but some cord or some compression straps through the loops soon sorts that out.
