Description

The Norwegian shirt (aka 'Norgie' or 'Norgy') is a much loved garment of the British Army. If you hadn't guessed already, the Norgie originated from Norway, where the winters are cold and tough hence the quality clothing system. A Norgie is a long-sleeve top which is worn as a base or middle layer in cold and dry conditions. The interior side is made of a terry toweling fabric for absorbing cool sweat off your skin and keeping you warm during low-intensity activities.

Norgies feature a high collar which can be zipped to the top in extreme cold weather. The cuffs can be buttoned tight or left loose and rolled up for casual wear. Any outdoor conqueror can appreciate an affordable, warm layer with a high build quality to last years of use.

Colour may differ slightly from the pictured product.

Features:

  • Genuine British Army surplus
  • High collar with quarter length zip
  • Terry cloth interior
  • Single buttoned cuffs

Best shirt I've ever bought

My two year old refuses to take off her paw patrol costume and I refuse to take this shirt off. Best shirt ever made. Ordered a second one.

Very Good

A serious fave, have purchased two, to date. Both shirts were purchased at separate times and came in excellent condition. They were of different shades but I liked that, that's variety. Very soft, very warm. I'm a 158cm female so they are relatively huge on me no matter what, with super long sleeves. However I call that a bonus. It makes layering up easier. I don't need to struggle to adjust any thermals.

Decided to get a second one

These are definitely pre shrunk. They have seen a few campaigns and that’s what makes them so comfortable and easy to wear. I use mine as a base layer. The collars can be a bit tight, best worn zipped up with the collar then rolled down in half. Great for winter in Taupo.

Living the farm life, this top has proven its worth, its true its had a life already, I wish it could tell the stories of past owner, has a few holes in it now, but soo warm and comfortable, usually worn now at days end once the temps drop below zero. Will purchase another for sure...

These are a great bit of old school kit, soft warm cotton, plenty of room to move and long enough to cover well down your back, hadnt seen one for years so got two, wear one most weekends- wash easy- get yourself one and see for yourself.
