Description

These Kombat made canteens are a commercial reproduction of the Osprey 58 pattern canteen. A tried and true design that has been used for over half a century, Kombat offers a brand new unused variation if the surplus version isn't your vibe.

The Osprey style of water bottle is a classic among military canteens. This has been standard issue for the British Army for many years. It has a 1litre capacity and is made from strong, durable plastic. The lid is permanently attached and is fitted with a rubber seal. Fitting perfectly on the bottle is a cup with fold-out metal handles. The cup holds approximately 500ml.

This is one for all those who utilize British Army gear especially but also a welcome bit of gear for anyone heading out into the outdoors!

    Not An Osprey, But Acceptable

These bottles, as with other copies, are not the same as the military-issued items. Different material (thin PVC instead of thick Nylon) and different dimensions (1L as opposed to 1.1L, and different thread pattern on the lid). Also, the O-ring isn't very reliable, and the lid will not accept an adaptor for a respirator. With all that said, they function perfectly well as a water bottle and they don't have forty years of squaddie spit adhering to them - just don't try to use one as an improvised tyre chock.
