Ethiopia adopted their current flag in 1996. The flag sports Pan-African colours. The green represents the fertility of the lands and hope. Yellow represents freedom and peace. Red represents the sacrifice of Ethiopians in defense of their country.

The flag has a white strip on the side with two metal eyelets.
