The current flag of Georgia came about in 1991 during Georgia's independence movement from the Soviet Union. Although the original design has been identified with Georgia as far back as 1008AD. It wasn't until 2004 the flag was formally adopted in parliament. 

The flag has a white strip on the side with two metal eyelets.
