The current flag of Cape Verde was adopted in 1992. The 10 stars on the flag represent the 10 main islands of the nation. The blue areas represent the ocean and sky. The white strip is symbolizes peace and the red strip represents the peoples effort.

The flag has a white strip on the side with two metal eyelets.
