Description

*Note* There is a good mash between British & Belgian Army shells but have similar colour hues. There is a mixture of leather and plastic inner linings with some non-original linings from film set use. These will be picked at random.

The colloquially named 'Brodie helmet' design rose from the bloody warfare of the First World War. There were several versions made by the British and after WW1 the MkII came to the fore - many commonwealth countries adopted it as well. Belgium after the end of the Second World War adopted the same MkII design. Although made in the millions, in recent years it is getting harder and harder to come by these helmets let alone British war time originals. This batch have come from European film sets and contain helmets from all sorts of dates/origins.

Although they come from different areas & dates, these helmets all have the iconic MkII steel shell. Inner liners vary in material used from leather to plastic but have the same adjustable depth and cross pad in the bottom. Some have dates and sizes printed, others don't - we went to the trouble of measuring these up as best we can (some liners lose a bit of shape over time). Apart from the die hard collectors out there, these helmets certainly look the part for any WW2 film sets or airsoft games and aren't growing on trees no more!

Features:

  • Genuine British & Belgian military surplus shells
  • Steel shell
  • Adjustable chin strap
  • Inner liner with depth adjustment

Sizing: Some of these have labels which have UK sizing, rest have no markings - we measured up manually the head size. Headwear sizes are measured by the circumference around your head, just above the ears. For more information on hat sizes, check out our sizing guide.

Fast shipping- arrived in 3 days. Mine was manufactured by Rubery Owens in 1940 which is engraved near and on strap buckles. Fits like a glove and the strap is comfortable and easy to adjust. Would recommend to any collector with an interest in WW2.

Good quality shell used back in the day. Mine had scratches and dents so probably saw Abit of action both in the battlefield (or exercise) and in storage etc... got it from the Armyandoutdoors in Christchurch 10/10 customer service highly recommend the store, my shell itself is British made, manufactured by Rubery Owens in 1943, it was refitted with a Greekliner some probably used by the Hellenic Army Post WW2, good for collection or reenactment, good idea to sort thru what stock they have if ur in the store. Other then that happy with my purchase cheers Army and Outdoors
